today is my meggi's birthday and i wanted to do a post for my 'post-this' column. i just figured i would write some of the things that i love about my lovely bride.
1. i love the way her cheeks rise and get puffy when she smiles.
2. i love her laugh
3. i love that she actually laughs at my bad jokes
4. i love that she is the most supportive person i've ever met. i could not have envisioned a better wife.
5. i love how she has a facination with little 'cute' stuff
6. i love the joy she exhibits
7. i love her lips
8. i love both sides of her face
9. i love her falling asleep before me and her momentarily waking up to make strange comments
10. i love that she has compassion for people
11. i love that she is more gifted than me in many areas
12. i love how she discloses her most intimate thoughts and feelings on subjects/situations to me.
13. i love that she is hot
14. i love how cute she is when she gets mildly mad at me
15. i love how she still flirts with me
16. i love that she gets nervous for people for when something significant is happening in others lives.
17. i love that she honors family
18. i love that she loves Jesus.
19. i love my meggi
well - i've got to get home to take my wife out on her birthday ...

the latest and greatest.
i have been trying to come up with something exciting to post, but it's been pretty boring around here. here is what we've been up to.
-this past monday, i had to get a colonoscopy and endoscopy done because of some abdominal pain i've been having (no, i'm not pregnant). we'll see what the results will be. i'd appreciate your prayers cause i haven't been feeling too well this week.
-someone generously covered our valentine's dinner at the melting pot.
-i had a premiere party with jenny.
-matt worked out and now can't walk.
-i booked my first official wedding!
-i haven't taken many pictures lately due to my computer being out of memory :)
-set a date to take ange and jer's engagement pictures.
-went to get our bridesmaids dresses for ange and jer's wedding!
-editing ben and em's wedding photos.
-yelling 'hoodie hoo.'
-missing london.
-and that pound cake i made...not so much.
-organizing the department a little more.
-getting ready for our grow retreat next weekend.
-husband has been leaving me notes in the morning with different psalms to read, which has really blessed me.
-mom came and rescued me today from the snow.
-and my birthday week has commenced. which is definitely the greatest.
i hope you all are surviving the 'winter storm!'

today i called the white house to wish mr. bush a happy president's day, but they wouldn't let me talk to him. they said they would pass along the message.

haapy
this is the note matt left me on our bathroom mirror this morning. it says, 'you are the dearest woman in the...and then he drew a picture of the earth for world. i <3 you.' isn't he cutest. i love him. valentine's day is going to last two days for us. we're having a quiet night here at home where he's making me dinner and going to watch a chick flick : ) all his idea. and then tomorrow we have a big night out on the town planned and will end in going to one of our favorite places to eat, the melting pot. i can't believe it's our second valentine's day together married.
happy valentine's to all! and an extra special one to the newlyweds upstairs.
i gotta get back to watching oprah's valentine's day show and making pound cake. good stuff.

post this - the zoo is awesome
well ... meg has been pressuring me for quite some time to do an occasional post so i am giving in. the title of all of my posts will be called 'post this' because it is a pretty cool thing to say.
a lot of good stuff has gone on in the past 2 months, our first christmas, london, our first anniversary in ny, but, because i am a boy ... zoo's will always be really awesome to me.
in early january on about the only nice day we went with some friends to the zoo ... it was awesome.
so there was our day at the zoo ... as my dearest love said i was way too interested in the animals and not enough in the people, but still ....

anniversary and such
here are some pictures from our anniversary weekend in NYC. didn't take that many and unfortunately didn't get any together! but, if you combine these two, maybe it can look like one.
we took these on our way back from dinner at ruth's chris steak house. a late wedding gift certificate enabled us to eat there. they have about every kind of potato. it's amazing.
we stayed at the hilton in times square and they gave us complimentary champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, which i realized that i really like.
if i hadn't gone to new york, i wouldn't have known that paige davis is back on trading spaces!
the views from our room.
matt(completely serious)-"babe look...it's samuel l. jackson!"
me-"matt, it's wax."
on sunday, we went to the international center of photography. i was really excited, but it was actually pretty disappointing. it was not what we thought it was gonna be. i wouldn't recommend it.
we were in the gay section of the city and matt was feeling pretty uncomfortable.
but, we went there for me so i could get red mango, which is a yogurt place. kinda like cold stone where you add in your own mix in's but a healthier alternative. i saw it on a photographers blog and have been wanting to try it ever since. it was yum-o.
and then after doing some things in between we headed home. it was a memorable weekend for our one year anniversary.
thanks for those of you who prayed for me with em's wedding. it went great and now i have the job of editing and sorting through 1,000 photos. pictures to come. there's one over on my flickr if you wanna see one.
and lastly, if you weren't at church on sunday, go listen to jared mellinger's message on the church website. the part where he particularly talked about being cross centered was very timely and encouraging for me to hear. make some time to listen to it.
