the classics.

i was told by heidi to read this book called 'love walked in' which she told me is based of the movie 'the philadelphia story.' heidi has never seen it, so i told her we would watch it together. but, then i proceeded to make a list of old movies we should watch. and then i proceeded to think, what would be on my list of best classic movies? so, here is my official list of favorite, classic movies:

roman holiday
philadelphia story
breakfast at tiffany's
shop around the corner
it happened one night
an affair to remember
some like it hot
mr. smith goes to washington
sabrina
north by northwest
that touch of mink

sub category-musicals:
HELLO DOLLY
easter parade
state fair
singin in the rain
guys and dolls
funny face

gidget

heidi, we have a lot of movies to watch :)

what am i missing and what would you add to the list?

the only 2 i've ever seen from that list are North by Northwest and Singin in the Rain.
Clearly I have some catching up to do.

good lists! i personally love rear window. my fair lady is another good musical. and i don't know if you've ever seen the adventures of robin hood with errol flynn but that's a very entertaining movie.

i agree with michelle on rear window. grace kelly is a must. she wears the best outfits in that movie. i would add a fred astaire and ginger rogers movie, but i can't remember the name. it's the one with the line about cecil and kelli and i laugh hysterically every time.

1. i also concur with mich on rear window.
2. to catch a thief, just for grace kelley's outfits. carey grant ain't bad either.
3. i like you can't take it with you with jimmy stewart (one of his first). totally wacky and i think heidi would appreciate it.
4. t - the movie you're thinking of is shall we dance. "jeffrey baird... no, no cecil flintridge!" oh we need to watch that soon.
