our thanksgiving

happy thanksgiving. matt and i had a great one spending it with both our families. the WHOLE gang was over at my parents house for the day. i made my now traditional green beans. we ate. wrote in the thankfulness notebook. planned out black friday. played the wii. and connect four. and euchre...and lost. and are now watching the eagles game already eating leftovers. i love the holidays :) hope you all had a great one as well.

grateful for cousins!! yesterday, mom, traci and i went to meet up with my cousin nikki who was in baltimore for a conference. we ended up taking her to annapolis for the afternoon and walked around the naval academy for awhile. we had so much fun and laughed a lot. nikki lives in iowa and we so wish she lived closer. i am grateful for all of my extended family, but especially for cousins. we all hold a special place in one another's hearts.

snow, snow, snow...

i am eagerly looking forward to the holiday season, especially christmas. i love it. and yesterday we got a good bit of snow that only made me more eager. so, today i am grateful for snow days in, listening to christmas music, drinking tea out of my starbucks christmas mug from reenie and smelling my evergreen candle that matt doesn't like. speaking of matt, i am get him to do a gratefulness post of his own, so stay tuned...i'm sure it'll be good.

it is my mom's birthday today. and i am oh so grateful for her. she is an incredible mom and friend. she is wise, a servant, and loves her family so much. there is no woman i respect more than her. not only is she all these things, but she is also so much fun to be with. i love days when we go shopping together (gapathons), go to sonic, go to goodwill and find some treasures and then have to move them into my house...and move them out when they don't fit, go out with the girls, and everything else in between. tonight my sisters and i took her out for dinner and were cracking up with some hilarious mom stories. i love her so much and am so blessed with her as my mom!!!

this is my friend heidi. she really makes me laugh. we have a lot of fun together. we like to go shopping, especially at tiffany's and pick out what we want our husbands to buy us. we talk politics...well, she talks and i listen. she has an incredible voice and i love it when she sings, especially 'sweet canada.' we like to hang out with our boys and go into the city ('clubbing'), bowling, and beat them in euchre. and we try and be very domestic and make dinner for them. i love my friend heidi and am very grateful for her.

i am grateful for my camera. it allows me to have fun and explore God's creation and world through photography. i love that when i am bored, i can pick up my camera and have fun taking interesting and crazy photos (which often fail). i am blessed that the photos i take blesses others. i so enjoy photography and it would not be possible with out my camera.

the little dudes

these are the three dudes that live under us. they are too cute and fun. i am grateful that i can play with them and build a little relationship with them. i love them so much. it makes me wonder how much more i will love my own kids! today, their mommy and daddy and us played outside with the leaves. they were lovin' it. here are some fun photos.

today i am grateful for my mini. not only does it get me to places near (target) and far (gaithersburg), but it is super cute. i am so blessed to have such a nice car and a husband that is so kind to buy it for me.

on a side note, at dinner last night matt said, "my hair is really frizzy today!" ha...he didn't even know what i had wrote.

today i am grateful for hair gel. if there wasn't any, my hair would be really frizzy. matt gives it a double thumbs up too.

honestly, today i am finding it hard to be grateful. the little things in life are getting me down. and this election. but i was reminded from sarah of God's sovereignty. thanks sharpie for that reminder. so, today i am grateful that God is good ALWAYS.

gratitude month.

my friend angela has declared it gratitude month! so, here are a few things i am grateful for this day.


1. fall.
2. 97.5...let it be known that this day i have heard my first carpenter's christmas song!!
3. the phillies winning the world series. if they hadn't, i don't think matt would have ever recovered.
4. this country. even though it is messed up sometimes, i am grateful i live in a country where we have freedom of speech and religion. i find it a privilege that i get to vote tomorrow.
5. our invest group and meetings. good stuff.
6. and my father, mother and sister in law. i am so blessed to have them in my life. and help me with house projects :)

i cannot not give any more cause i have to save them.
